"In 1889, when Washington was admitted as a State, the state legislature established a State superior court in each of the organized counties, with a judge elected for a term of 4 years. The records of the King County Territorial Court passed to the newly created King County Superior Court, which sat at Seattle." For more information see the beginning of the film.
