Benvenuto e tavola rotonda sugli archivi di tutto il mondo
Stephen T. Rockwood, direttore generale di FamilySearch International, vi dà il benvenuto al Simposio del 2024 sui custodi di archivi e documenti, in diretta da Salt Lake City, ed è affiancato da un gruppo di esperti di archivi di tutto il mondo che racconteranno le loro esperienze nella conservazione, nella tutela e nella condivisione dei documenti in loro custodia. Tra i relatori figurano: Yolanda Comacho – direttore dell’Archivio storico dello stato di San Luis Potosí, in Messico; il dott. Emmanuel Calairo – presidente della Commissione storica nazionale delle Filippine; Carlos Serrano-Vásquez – direttore esecutivo del Consiglio internazionale degli Archivi e Thomas Aigner – amministratore delegato di Heritage Consulting GmbH.

Dr. Emmanuel Calairo
Calairo, a long-time administrator of De La Salle University-Dasmariñas, has spent his decades-long career advocating for research, education, and preservation of Philippine history and culture. He served as President of the Philippine Historical Association (PHA) from 2014 to 2018 and was a commissioner of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) prior to becoming chairman of the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) on March 1, 2023.
Carlos Serrano Vásquez
Carlos Serrano Vásquez is a Communications and media professional, with an MA in World Heritage and 15 years of experience in cultural heritage management, both nationally and internationally. He has developed significant skills in designing and developing programmes for diverse audiences in institutions such as: the National Museum of Colombia, UNESCO and ICOM. He also has practice leading interdisciplinary teams, fundraising, and integrating new technologies into cultural projects. He is committed to collaborative work, inclusion, access to culture and social responsibility.As the Executive Director, Carlos leads the work of the ICA Secretariat and is responsible for the implementation of the strategies and policies of the organization. In consultation with the Elected Officers, he also establishes and maintains external partnerships in line with ICA’s mission and goals.
Dr. Yolanda Camacho-Zapata
Born in San Luis Potosí, México, and currently serves as the Director of the Historic Archive of the State of San Luis Potosi, Mexico. She is also a university professor and an attorney for the UASLP. She holds a PHD in History from the National Autonomous University of México, and two Masters’ degrees from the University of Western Ontario, Canada. Yolanda has had significant interaction with FamilySearch, due to a recent digitization project that was carried out for many important genealogical records.
Dr. Thomas Aigner
Thomas Aigner has held leading positions in the field of cultural heritage and digitisation: Founder of the Matricula platform and founder and former President of ICARUS - International Centre for Archival Research (2008-2023) and a major driving force behind its international activities, including cross-border and EU-funded projects supporting digitisation activities and open access to digital content. He is one of the founding fathers and currently Vice President of the Time Machine Organisation, a global network of some 700 institutions from research, GLAMs and industry. Since 2023 he is the director of Heritage Consulting GmbH, an Austrian based company supporting and advising cultural heritage entities in the process of digital transformation.
