Sandra Dee Bird Sorensen, age 48, of Elsinore, Utah, formerly of Roosevelt, passed away Dec. 3, 2011, at the Sevier Valley Medical Center in Richfield from a sudden heart attack.

She was born Feb. 21, 1963, in Roosevelt, to Marion Bird and Karen Sue Gardner Fonger. She married Scott Lynn Silcox and they had two beautiful children. They later divorced. She found the love of her life, John Ryan and they have been together for ten years.

Sandra was a loving, caring person who enjoyed being around her family and friends. She loved being outdoors and admired all the beauty around her. She loved singing to her grandchildren, and had an adventurous side of ghost hunting.

Her pranks and laughter will be missed. She brought so many smiles to so many. She was a very beautiful person inside and out. She worked very hard and dedicated a lot of her time working as a counselor at Sorenson's Ranch, a camp for troubled youth, and at Gayle Chevron.

Sandra is survived by her loving companion, John Ryan, Elsinore; a son, Jeremy (Jessica) Silcox, Roosevelt; a daughter, Shellie Cole (Tyson Rowley), Ogden; grandchildren, Maykala Cole and Shalie Nay; brother and sisters, Christine (Dwight) Haycock, Escalante; William "Rowdy" Murray; Sharlene Smith, both of Roosevelt; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Louis Bird, Craig Bird, Mike Hackford, Kelly Hackford; and step-father, Steven Shemoncofsky.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Sat., Dec. 10 at the Hullinger Mortuary where a viewing will be held on Friday from 6-8 p.m. and from 10-10:45 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in the Neola Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a donation would be appreciated to help with funeral expenses. It can be made at any Mountain America Credit Union in Sandra's name.
