Responsibilities
In this mission, you will have the opportunity to help with a variety of projects. Here are some of the service opportunities that will be available:
- Prepare content for translation using basic HTML skills.
- Publish translations using a WYSIWYG editor.
- Take screenshots of the FamilySearch website in multiple languages, and save these images as organized image files.
- Help work with representatives around the world to understand area needs.
- Explore publishing language-first content, and help oversee related area initiatives.
- Participate in weekly devotionals with other family history missionaries.
Qualifications
Our missionaries are temple-worthy, serve from home, and will have experience in some or all of these areas:
- Knowledge of a second language (This missionary will be working with translated text in several languages. Knowledge of at least one additional language will be helpful in their projects.)
- Organization skills and a detail-oriented mindset
- Computer-savvy
- Willing to help with crucial but repetitive tasks (e.g., taking and editing screenshots in 11+ languages)
- Experience with a WYZIWYG editor like WordPress, Blogspot, Brightspot, etc.
- Comfortable with recognizing differences between languages (e.g., learning to recognize the visual difference between Chinese, Korean, and Japanese characters)
Time: 12-40 hours per week with reliable consistency
