"This register was begun in 1744, initially for the Moravian congregation meeting at St. James (interdenominational) church in Warwick Township. It soon became purely Moravian. This Warwick country congregation was united in 1759 with that of the new Moravian town-church of Lititz, and the records of both congregations continued to be kept in this Warwick register for six more years. After 1765, when a separate register was begun for the Lititz residents, this Warwick register continued in use for those Moravian families in the region who resided outside the town of Lititz (and occasionally for 'neighbors' who were not Moravians)" -- P.
