Thomas Totty (1662?-1732) immigrated from England to America prior to 1685 and settled in what is now Henrico County, Virginia. Record lists children and some grandchildren of each generation but chiefly follows line of descent to the author's father, Frank Marion Totty (1857-1935). He was born in Cooke County, Texas, the son of Francis M. Totty (1827-1884) and Rhoda Spradling Totty (d. 1899). He married Mary Ann Springer (1858-1904) in 1880. They had eleven children, 1881-1898, born in Montague and Wheeler Counties, Texas. He married 2) Maggie Eizabeth Cantrell Procter (1876-1934), a widow with one child, in 1906. She was probably born in Tennessee, the daughter of John Milton Cantrell (1841-1925). They had four children, 1908-1913. Most descendants listed lived in Texas.
