James Peery, son of George Perie (Pirie) and Esther, was born about 1755 in Augusta County, Virginia. He married Jane (Janet) Gilmore, daughter of James Gilmore and Ann, on 8 Dec 1777. They had 6 children. James died 11 Mar 1829 in Hickman County, Tennessee and Jane died 17 Jan 1842. Their descendants have lived in Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, Oklahoma, and other areas in the United States.
