Chiefly, a record of ancestors of Lt. Col. Bruce G. Haney who died of a heart attack on 5 June 1991, at age 47, while jogging near his home in Huntsville, Alabama. He became a pioneer when (after a large amount of research) he succeeded in getting the names of Captain Henry J. Holland, Nansemond County Militia of Virginia, and Private Jeremiah Matthews, Cumberland County Militia of North Carolina, listed in the Patriot Index of the National Society, Sons of American Revolutionary War. The ancestors of Lt. Col. Bruce G. Haney go back as follows: (1) James William Haney and Mona Ruthe Camp, (2) William Ernest Haney (1890-1956) and Nellie Elizabeth Matthews (1893-1929), (3) James Casey Matthews (1867-1924) and Rhoda Frances Durham (1872-1924), (4) Gilbert Peter Matthews (1831-1898) and Elizabeth Holland (1833-1915), (5) Archibald Holland (1800-1868) and Elizabeth Hagin (1809-1840), (6) William Holland (1780-1842) and Rebecca ?? (1784-1846, and (7) Captain Henry J. Holland (1760-1810) and Sarah ?? (1760-1817). Ancestors lived mostly in Alabama and Georgia. Includes Haney, Camp, Matthews, Holland and related families.
