Kanawha County kept one list from 1792 to 1850, with some of the years missing, 1794-1795, 1797-1800. There was no tax collected for the year 1808, the General Assembly did not pass tax collecting legislation for that year.

Tax lists give name of person taxed or tithed, type and amount of taxable property, amount of tax, and the county statistics.
