Registers list number, date of report, name. sex and color, age, occupation, date of death, marital status, nationality, where born, length of residence, place and cause of death, complications, duration of disease, place and date of burial, undertaker, physician. Records list name, sex, age, occupation, date of death, marital status, where born, place and cause of death, place of burial. Transcripts list number, place, date of birth, age, marital status, birthplace, mother, occupation, informant, date and cause of death, physician, place and date of burial, undertaker.
Lee County records were kept in two courthouses: Ft. Madison, for the northern records; and Keokuk, for the southern records.
