He married Isabel Crosfield in 1735 and settled in the village of Gatebeck, near Kendal, Westmoreland County, England. They had six children, 1736-1743. Most of Thomas' life, he was a minister for the Society of Friends and traveled extensively in England and Scotland, and visited Ireland and America.
