Notakuéra

Peter Dragoo [Pierre Dragaud] (ca. 1669-1712) was born at Moise, Saintonge, Sourbise, France, the son of Pierre and Elizabeth Tavaud Dragugaud. He married Elizabeth Tavaud (b. 1669), a native of France, at the French Church of Bristol, England, in 1699. They had three children, born 1700/1-ca. 1707, probably on Staten Island, Richmond County, New York. Their descendant of the fourth generation, Belteshazzer Dragoo (1857-1836), a Revolutionary War soldier, was born on Staten Island, a son of Peter and Mary Dragoo. He and his wife, Martha Butler, had twelve children, 1773-1798. The family was living in Berks County, Pennsylvania, in 1773 and migrated to Brown County, Ohio, in the 1790s. They later joined the Shakers. Record lists children of each generation but chiefly follows line of descent to John Mead Dragoo (1841-1866) of the seventh generation and lists his children and grandchildren. No locality names listed for them.
