Samuel Fogg was born at Exter, England in 1613. He immigrated to America in 1630. After wandering around for eight years, he settled at Hampton, New Hampshire. He married Anna Shaw, ca. 1652. They had five children. His son, Seth Fogg (1666-1755), married Sarah Shaw. They had six children, 1697-1794. Record chiefly follows line of descent to the author's father, Charles Henry Fogg. He was born in 1872 at Smithfield, Utah, the son of James Ezra and Martha Ann Woodward Fogg. His father, James Ezra Fogg (1840-1891), was born at Liberty, Maine, the son of Ezekiel True Fogg (1805-1865). He came west with Johnson's army; married Martha Ann Woodward; and stayed in Utah when the army left. Charles Henry Fogg married Merilla July (1875-1960). They had four children. He was living at Nampa, Idaho, in 1961.
