John Daingerfield and his brother, William, emigrated from England to settle along the James River in Virginia in the early 1600s. John Daingerfield, direct descendant of immigrant John, acquired land in 1660 in Rappahanock County, Virginia. Descendants and relatives lived in Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee and elsewhere.
