Thomas Fawcett (d.1747), a Quaker, married Lydia Boyes in Ulster, Ireland, and in 1736 they immigrated to Philadelphia, and settled in Springfield Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania. In 1743 they moved to the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, and settled at Fawcetts Gap near Winchester, Virginia. Descendants and relatives lived in Pennsylvania, Virginia, Tennessee, Ohio, Missouri, Kansas and elsewhere.
