Major Robert Beverly, a native of Beverly, Yorkshire, England, immigrated to Virginia, ca. 1663, and settled in Middlesex County. He married married 1) Mary, probably the widow of George Keeble. They had four children. He married 2) Katherine Horne, probably the widow of Major Theophilius Horne and a sister of Colonel John Armistead, in 1679. They had one son in 1680. Major Robert Beverly died in 1686 in Middlesex County, Virginia. Most descendants listed lived in Virginia.
