Microfilm of original records at the Library, Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, Virginia.

This church was organized in 1819 with its congregation divided into two distinct sections, one on the east side of the Southwestern Mountains and the other on the west side. Both sections built churches. The eastern church was called South Plains. The western church was called Bethel and was organized separately in 1870.
