Also the Bounty Land Warrant numbers are included as shown in the card index. There are cross-references to files in other series, towit; War of 1812, Old Wars, Indian Wars & the Civil War. "The index to Mexican War Pension Files was prepared from records located at the National Archives in Washington, D.C. The Mexican War series of pension applications are for claims based on service performed in 1846-1848. An act of Congress approved 29 Jan 1887 and continuing through 1926 provided pensions for veterans who had served sixty days or their unremarried widows"--Introd.
