Pearl Geraldine Daugherty was born in 1943 at Pennington Gap, Lee County, Virginia, the daughter of Samuel Ray and Jeanette Campbell Daugherty. She married Forest J. Nodine in 1975. Samuel Ray Daughter was born in 1916 at Pennington Gap, Virginia, the son of Wynn Daugherty (1876-1966) and Sarah Elizabeth Baumgardner Daugherty (1877-1948). He married Jeanette Campbell in 1938 at Pennington Gap. They had eight children, 1939-1951, born at Pennington Gap and Paoli and Bedford, Indiana. Jeannette Campbell was born in 1915 in Wise County, Virginia, the daughter of Charles Irvin Campbell (1868-1961) and Martha Jane Napier Campbell (1886-1947).
