Originally the parish vestry dealt with land processioning, care of the poor, apprenticeships and guardianships of orphans, levying of taxes, and other civil matters. Around 1785 the counties set up civil agencies, such as the overseers of the poor, to take over many of these functions.
Contains minutes of vestry meetings which consider levying of tithes, taking care of the poor, upkeep of the church, disbursement of funds, and other matters. Contains also overseers of the poor accounts and meeting minutes.
Includes letter 1874 Jan. 25, Richmond [to] Mr. Wynne / Rich.(?) Brock.
