William Green of "Greens Norton" of Northampton County, England, married Eleanor Duff of family of McDuff of Scotland. William descended from the same ancestor as Sir Thos. Green, the father of Matilda who married Sir Thos. Parr. Their daughter, Kathrine Parr was the 6th wife of Henry VIII. Robert Green, son of William Green and Eleanor Duff was born in 1695 and married Eleanor Dunn of Scotland. He came to America about 1710 with his uncle Sir William Duff, a Quaker. He later built a home, "Liberty Hall" near Brandy, Va. in what is now Culpeper County, Virginia. Robert served in the House of Burgesses. Descendants lived in Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Texas, Washington and elsewhere.

Includes Green, Aldridge, Brent, Lane, Lewis, Moncure, Strother, Ballace, Bower, Roberts, Pollock, Bayley, Shackleford, Kohoe and related families.
