Archibald Fisher emigrated from Scotland to America sometime before the American Revolution with his two sons. He had married twice in Scotland. He was living in Augusta County, Virginia, by 1767. He married 3) Susanna Sheddon in 1767. He married 4) Elizabeth Sharp in Knox County, Tennessee, in 1797. He was the father of six children. He migrated to Randolph County, Illinois, in 1801, and settled in Springfield township. He died in 1805.

John Beaird, born in Virginia, migrated to Tennessee in 1787 and married Eleanor Fisher, daughter of Archibald Fisher. They had nine children. He and his family migrated from Wayne County, Kentucky, to Randolph County, Illinois, in 1801. He died in 1809.
