Virginia MacClamroch Hoge, wife of James Fulton Hoge, and a resident of New York City, was born 9 November 1907 in Greensboro, North Carolina, the daughter of James Robbins MacClamroch and Grace West. She claims eligibility for membership in the National Society of Colonial Dames by descent from Thomas Warren, ca. 1624-1670, on her mother's line.

Thomas Warren was baptized at Ripple, County Kent, England, on 30 January 1624. He immigrated to America before 4 Nov. 1642 and settled in Surry County, Virginia. He was a member of the Virginia House of Burgesses from Surry County, 1644-1666. He died ca. 1670 in Surry County. His son, Allen Warren was born in Surry County, 1662/1663 and died between 1737 and 1744 in Surry County.
