Johannes Rupp (1726-1801) immigrated to America from the Palatinate in 1749 and settled in Lebanon township, Lebanon County, Pennsylvania. He married Margareta Frey (1732-1822) in 1750. They had four daughters and a son, Johannes (1868-1814).
Rev. Henry Rupp was born 26 May 1805, the son of John and Catherine Heilman Rupp, in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania. He married Sarah Hibschman (1810-1888), daughter of Henry and Elizabeth Kumler Hibschman, 8 Mar. 1831, in Lebanon County. They had eight children. In 1832, they moved to Jefferson, Wayne County, Ohio, later moving to Richland County, Ohio, and then in 1847 to Martinsville, Illinois. Rev. Rupp was a circut rider, preaching in Clark, Cumberland, and Jasper counties, Illinois. He died in Martinsville, 23 June 1898. Descendants lived in Illinois, Iowa, Ohio, Minnesota, and elsewhere.
