Col. Nathaniel Edwards, sof John Edwards of Surry County, Virginia, settled in Brunswick County, Virginia. He married Jane EatHaynes, daughter of Col. William Eatand widow of Anthony Hayes. They had nine children. He died in Burnswick County, Virginia, in 1771. Most descendants listed lived in Virginia or North Carolina.
John Eaton, the emigrant from England, settled first in York County, Virginia, then moved to Prince George County, Virginia. He died there in 1739. His son, Col. William Eaton, married Mary Rives, ca. 1717. They had nine children. The family migrated from Prince George County, Virginia, to Greenville County, North Carolina, ca. 1742. He died there in 1759. Most descendants listed lived in North Carolina or Virginia. His daughter Jane Eatmarried Col. Nathaniel Edwards.
