Notakuéra

Thomas Wilkes immigrated from England to Charles City County, Virginia in 1653. John Wilkes (possibly a relative of Thomas) was in Charles City County, Virginia in 1658. A Joseph Wilkes (probably a descendant of Thomas or John) was on the New Kent County rent rolls in 1704--and was the direct ancestor of the four brothers whose progeny are traced. Other Wilkes immigrants (to Virginia, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina) and their progeny are traced. Descendants lived along the Atlantic seacoast, and in Tennessee, Arkansas, Illinois and other midwestern states.

Includes Wylkys, Wylks, Wilks and other variant spellings; Bentley, Crews, Mitchener, Rawlings, Stone, Winn (Wynne) and related families.

Also available on microfiche and digital images.

Includes bibliographic references and index.
