Descendants of Jacques Briand through his son James (Jacques) Bryant Jr. Jacques Briand, the emigrant, came to America with the Hughenots and settled in Powhatan Co., Virginia. He married (1) Elizabeth Le Fevre. She was a daughter of Isaac Le Fevre (b. 1667 in France, came to America in 1699). Jacques and Elizabeth had eight children. He was the secretary of King William Parish in Virginia in 1744. After his wife Elizabeth died ca. 1745, he married (2) Clara Vermeuil Trabue, widow of Antoine Trabue, Jr. (d. 1783). They had three children. Descendants live in Virginia, Kentucky, Missouri and elsewhere.
