Included in this collection are the birth records for Newberry City 1885 to 1915 and death records for Newberry City 1885 to 1950 (large gaps in recording at times); miscellaneous records found around town; some Federal records. [The transcriber] skipped ahead 100 years for obituaries because [he] was finding so many names in the city birth records who had family dying 100 years later in the same locale. Some, as in O.B. Mayer, had the same name for three generations. Newspaper abstracts in this work are from 1878 to 1905.
