Varteig belonged to Tune clerical district from 1685 to 1860. It became its own district in 1861. For earlier records see Tune clerical district. One christening and one death are listed as methodists at the end of item 2, film 1259718.
Ved kgl. bef. 6 juni 1685 ble Varteig sogn henlagt til Tune prestegjeld og hørte hertil inntil Varteig kgl. res. 14 juli 1860 ble oprettet til eget sognekald fra 1 jan. 1861. Tidligere embetsberetninger må søkes ved Tune. En døpt og en død er skrevet inn som methodister på slutten av item 2 film 1259718.
