Parish History[edit | edit source]
WHITTINGTON, a parish, in the union of Lancaster, hundred of Lonsdale south of the Sands, N. division of Lancashire, 2 miles southwest by south of Kirkby Lonsdale. Other places in the parish include: Newton with Docker and Docker. Whittington was one of the few ancient parishes in Lancashire with no known chapelries attached to it.[1]
