Before the Great Fire (1666)

Feet of Fines (1195-1569)

During the medieval period, archival copies of agreements between two parties concerning land lawsuits were known as feet of fines.

Many of these old records have been published and are available online:

Land Tax Assessments Books (1692-1900)
