Until 1746, the only court order book or loose judgment paper records that exist are one order book dated 1693-1695, which has been transcribed and indexed at least twice. From 1696 until 1745 neither record type is extant. Starting in 1746, several, but not all, order books exist, but no loose papers, until 1783, when there is another void of both. A full run of order books starts in 1795. Loose court papers survive starting in 1799 and run until 1807. Most are available on Family Search; all are on microfilm at the Virginia Library.
