Research use: Supplies data lacking from church records, particularly death information.
Record type: Records of public welfare centers and hospitals.
Time Period: 1700-present. A few from the 12th century.
Content: Names, ages, residence, date and place of birth or illness, sometimes names of parents or spouse, dates of admission and discharge or death, orphans ages or birth dates and sometimes place of origin.
Location: National, departmental, municipal and hospital archives.
Percentage in Family History Library: 1%.
Population coverage: 10%.
