This county is named for Governor Thomas Ford, its eighth governor.
Description[edit | edit source]
The county was named for Thomas Ford, who served as Governor of Illinois from 1842 to 1846. The county seat is Paxton and the county was organized on 1859. The County is located in the East-central part of the state.[2]
