The Center will open for "Regular Hours" as detailed below starting Tuesday 7 September 2021 (continuing the "Summer Hours" over July and August).

The Calgary Alberta Fish Creek Family History Center is located in the community of Parkland in the SE quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. We are supported by 25 Temple and Family History Consultants and Volunteers.

We strive to create opportunities for families to strengthen bonds and family ties as we provide support and education to the communities surrounding the Family History Center

  • After turning into the Parking lot turn right, go around the corner to the south side of the building. Park by the first door. Ring the doorbell and a Family History Center worker will come and welcome you in.

Thursday 9 am - 12 noon, 7 pm - 9.00 pm

The Center is closed on all public holidays. It is also closed on the evening of Valentine's and Halloween and closed over Christmas and New Years.

Tour and Group Activities:[edit | edit source]

The Calgary Alberta Fish Creek Family History Center welcomes the opportunity for individuals, organizations, and other groups visit to our Center.

We offer a variety of options that are sure to provide interest to your group - Youth, Adult, Church, Organization, Club, etc.

PLEASE REVIEW THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES FOR SCHEDULING A GROUP VISIT:

  • GROUP SIZE: We recommend a maximum of 10 participants for individual hands on computer access,
  • 'RESERVATIONS: Group activities can be held on any 'Wednesday of the month. All groups must be booked through Malcolm or Sue Cooper (403-278-4974). When booking, please indicate the purpose of the visit and equipment required, the number of participants and group contact person.
  • GUIDELINES FOR A SUCCESSFUL VISIT:

1. Church Account Registration: Each Church Member of the group needs to have a Church Login Account BEFORE coming to the Center. Please have them log in here or another church account site to make sure their username and password are working. For members who don't have a current account, please register for an account prior to your visit. You can do this by visiting this link. You will need your membership number to create the account. Your membership number is on your temple recommend or can be provided by your ward clerk.

2.Non Church Account Registration can be done by following the sign in prompts on the FamilySearch.org website.
3. Personal Family History Information: Except for Indexing visits, please have everyone bring their personal family names with as much information as possible. For youth, successful research visits, these names should include those ancestors born prior to 1940.
