Nasedkin
Most Russian surnames are derived from patronymics or various names and nicknames. Nasedka has long been used to refer to domestic birds, usually chickens, that hatch their young. The nickname Nasedka could be given to a mother or father who excessively doted on their children and a person who sat in one place for a long time. In dialects, the word nasedka also means «annoying.» The surname is most common in Russia (mainly in the Zabaykalsk Territory). Nasedkiny can also be found in Ukraine. In 1640, a rank-and-file cossack named Nasedkin lived in Chuguyevsky Uyezd. In 1687, a city resident with this surname served in Kharkov. In 1748, Petr Afanasyevich Nasedkin, who later became a district supervisor in Volchansk (now a city in the Kharkiv Region of Ukraine), was born. In the 19th century, the surname was widespread in the Kiev, Penza, Tver, and other governorates of the Russian Empire.
