Brite Pruitt (1770-1836), the son of Michael Pruitt and Elizabeth Bright, was born probably in what was then 96 District, South Carolina. He married first Annister "Ann"? (d. 1815) ca. 1790. They had ten children born in South Carolina and Kentucky. He married second Mrs. Elizabeth (Seabolt) Crum (1781-1870) in Jefferson Co., Kentucky. She was the daughter of John George Seabolt and widow of Jacob Crum. Brite and Elizabeth had three daughters. Brite Pruitt moved to Gregg Twp., Morgan Co., Indiana where he bought land in 1831. Descendants live in Indiana, Kansas, Illinois, Oklahoma, Missouri and elsewhere. .
