Beasley Pruitt (1740-1839), the son of Uriah Pruitt, Jr. and Elizabeth, was born in Virginia. He married (1) Eleanor Humpherys (ca. 1750-ca. 1805) ca. 1770 in Virginia. They had seven children. They moved to Natchez Distr. Miss. in 1783 and in 1803 to Rapides Parish, Louisiana. Beasley married (2) Lucy (Sims) Rogers (b. 1786) in 1808 in Rapides Parish, Louisiana. They had three children. Beasley died in West Liberty (now Dayton), Liberty Co., Texas. Descendants live in Texas, California, Louisiana, Arizona, Colorado and elsewhere.

Includes Prewitt/Pruitt/Pruett, Crowson, Green and allied families.
