Chiefly a record of some of the ancestors and descendants of George Leighton (Lighton) and Jean Guthrie. George was born ca. 1718 at Meikle Coul in Scotland to Andrew Leighton and Jean Birnie and died ca. 2 Feb 1772 in West Ogil. He married before 1754 at Meikle Coul to Isabel Lelighton (Lighton). She died 7 Nov 1762 at West Ogil. They were the parents of five children. He married 7 Feb 1765 Jean Guthrie at West Ogil. She was the daughter of James Guthrie. They were the parents of six children. Descendants lived in Scotland, New York, Pennsylvania, Illinois, and elsewhere.
