The earliest known ancestor, Robert Estes (Eustace), was born about 1475 in Kentshire, England, and he died in 1506 in Dover, Kentshire. The immigrant ancestor, Abraham Estes (1647-1720), son of Sylvester Estes and Ellen Martin, was born in Ringwould, Kentshire, England. He married (1) 1672 in Sandwich, Kent, England, Ann Burton, and (2) Barbara ? He had thirteen children, oldest born ca. 1684 in Virginia. Abraham Estes died in King & Queen, Virginia. Descendants live in Virginia, Missouri, Kansas, Kentucky and elsewhere.

Includes Bishop, Curtis, Gentry, Slayton and allied families.
