Peter Acker (ca. 1730-1815?) was born in Germany, the son of William and Anna Dirdoff Acker. His family immigrated to America ca. 1750 and settled in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. He married Jane Sutherland, ca. 1770, probably in New Jersey. They had nine children, 1772-1792, born in Virginia and South Carolina. Peter and Anna Acker died in Anderson County, South Carolina. Descendants lived in South Carolina, Alabama, Texas, Missouri, Mississippi, Georgia, Florida, Ohio, Tennessee, California and elsewhere.
