Chiefly a record of some of the descendants of Johann Theobald/Dewalt Brua. He was born in 1698 in France. He married Catharina Schmidt/ Schuh on 12 Feb 1719. Church records show her name as Anna Margaretha Rhein, she was from Pisdorf. They immigrated to America in 1741. They were the parents of thirteen children. They settled in Strasburg Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Dewalt (the name Johann used when he came to America) died between 11 Dec 1755 and 27 Feb 1756. Descendants lived in Pennsylvania, Kansas, Maryland, Illinois, North Carolina, Missouri, Ohio, Iowa, California, Canada and elsewhere.

Ancestors include: Jean Brua and Margret Meyel/Meier -- Jean Brua and Ottilia Fischer -- Johanna Adam Brua and Anna Catharina Stroh.

Surname also spelled Bruaw, Bruah, Brewer.
