Notes

Bendt Nielsen Jr. (1855-1944) was the son of Danish immigrants Bendt Nielsen Sr. and his wife Margaret Eilertsen. The family joined the L.D.S. Church in Denmark 1853 and soon afterwards immigrated to the United States. Two daughters, however, chose to remained in Denmark. Margaret Nielsen died in 1854 in St. Louis, Missouri before family reached Utah. Upon their arrival in Utah they made their home near the mouth of Weber Canyon. Bendt Nielsen Jr. married Sarah Jane Standley (1858-1934) 1883 in the Endowment House in Salt Lake City. She was the daughter of Franklin and Sarah Ann Haigh Standley. Soon after their marriage the couple bought a farm in Hyrum, Utah. Includes life stories and excerpts of journals.
