Family history and genealogical information about the descendants of Frederick Arthur Smith and Lena Miriam Balch. Frederick was born 11 September 1887 in Broome, New York. He was a descendant of Arthur Smith (born ca. 1610) who was an early Quaker living in Southold, Suffolk Co., New York. Lena was born 5 June 1886 in Binghamton, Broome Co., New York. She was a descendant of John Balch (born ca. 1579 in England) of Essex Co., Massachusetts and Margaret Lovell. Frederick Smith married Lena Balch 5 August 1913. They lived in New York and were the parents of three known children. Descendants lived in New York, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Vermont and elsewhere.

Includes information on the Balch, Freeman, Greenmun and Snow families.
