The serial is a collection of research reports, called working papers written by Dr. John Scott Davenport for the Frontier Hendricks Association. Dr. Davenport's research continues that begun by Dorothy N. Lloyd of Palatka, Florida in July 1990. Dorothy died in January 1991, and the research continued under the name of Dorothy N. Lloyd Memorial Hendricks Research. These reports explore genealogies of Hendricks (and other variant spellings) families who settled the frontier regions of Florida, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina. The main focus is on the family of Albertus Hendrickson, a Dutch carpenter. He immigrated to America before 1670, worked in Delaware, and then settled in Chester County, Pennsylvania. Albertus married Aeltje (or Helchey), and had four sons, James (Jacobus), John, Albert, and Tobias. They also had several daughters, Catherine, Isabel, and Elizabeth. Albertus died between 1714-1716, in Chester County, Pennsylvania. His family, other Hendricks (and variant spellings), and their allied families came from England, Holland, and Germany, and settled Nova Scotia, Northwest Territory, Quebec (Canada), and in Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, Washington D.C., West Virginia, and elsewhere. Slaves' names are included. Extracts and abstracts are taken from various records, including U.S. census records.
Includes Handritt, Heinrich, Hendrake, Hendric, Hendrick, Hendricks, Hendrickson, Hendrikes, Hendrix, Hendrixson, Hendry, Hendryx, Henricks, Henry, Kendrick(s), and other variant spellings.
Also includes Baldwin, Bankston, Bilderbeck, Blunston, Bobb, Boyer, Bright, Bryan, Carr, Cartledge, Chartier, Crouse, Davenport, de la Grange, Fouts (Foutz), Galbraith, Gale, Hanna, Harwood, Hon, Horley (Thorley), Jamison, Kalteisen, Keithley, Keller, Linvill (Levell, Levull, Linville), Low (Loh, Lowe), McHarg, Mearns, Miller, Minshall, Odell, Pfautz, Pollock, Popegay (Papegoja), Postlethwaite, Printz, Roland, Schiere, Sheek(s), Sutton, Vanneman, Welty, Wisehart, Worley, Wright, and other related families.
Includes bibliographic references.
Vol. 1 includes a name and locality index (not comprehensive).
