Samuel Roberts Griffith was born 1746 in Chester Co., Pennsylvania. He was the son of Welsh immigrants John Griffith and Elizabeth Roberts. Samuel married Deborah Drake Bevan in Pennsylvania and the were the parents of tne sons and two daughters. Samuel died ca. 1839 at the age of ninety three. Descendants lived primarily in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Oregon and elsewhere.
