Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Bennington (and variant spellings) families who came mainly from England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales. Allied families also came from France, Germany, Holland, Norway, Sweden, and Switzerland. Early Bennington ancestors settled in Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Rhode Island, and Virginia in the 1600s. Some were Quakers. In the 1700s, some settled in Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Vermont. During the 1800s, some moved to to British Columbia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, and Quebec (Canada), and to Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, the Indian Territory, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, South Carolina, Texas, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. Descendants and allied families also lived in Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Delaware, Florida, Hawaii, Idaho, Maine, Minnesota, Montana, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, Washington D.C., Wyoming, and elsewhere. Births, marriages, and deaths are extracted from bible, cemetery, census, court, land, military, parish, pension, probate, Soundex, and tax records, deeds, letters, newspapers, wills, and other official sources. Some family lines are traced back to the 900s. Some adoptions are included.
