Benjamin Butterfield (ca.1610-1688) immigrated from England to Chelmsford, Massachusetts in 1635. Descendants lived in New England, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Ohio, Missouri and elsewhere. Includes biographical sketch of direct descendant, Alice Butterfield (1871-1936), and of her husband, William Moore Goodnight (1875-1951); they farmed land near Warrensburg, Missouri and later moved to town to run a movie house.
Includes Fletcher, Hunt, Hazeltine, Jewett, Richardson, Underwood and related families.
