"John Jenny, the first Jenney ancestor in America, was born in England about 1584, and died in Plymouth, Massachusetts in May 1644. It is thought he may be the son of Henry and Mary (Smyth(e)) Jenny. He was from Norwich, County Norfolk."--P. 16. He later fled to Holland to avoid religious persecution. While there living in Leyden, John married Sarah Carey on 1 November 1614. "Sarah was from Monk Soham (Moncksoon)which is twenty-five miles south of Norwich and in County Suffolk [England]. John and his family left " ... Holland sailing on the [ship] Little James, arriving in Plymouth on the 23rd of August 1623."--P. 16. John's will was proved on 30 June 1644. His wive Sarah "lived ten to eleven years longer than he."--P. 18. Descendants lived in New England, New York, Ohio, Iowa, Florida and elsewhere. Includes ancestors in England to the 1300s.
