John Archer was born in Ireland ca. 1640. He and his family emigrated from Rathmelton-near-Londonderry, Ireland, in 1720 and settled at Brinkleys Mills, Cecil County, Maryland. A descendant, Martha? Archer, and his wife, had six children, 1793-1805. The family migrated from North Carolina to Tennessee in 1798. He died in Tennessee in 1807. His sons all migrated to Illinois, 1816-1820. Their descendants lived in Illinois, Missouri, California and elsewhere.
Includes the Maxcy, Cox, McMillan, Berry and other related families.
